I would MUCH prefer a standard, universal layout because the current system confuses call-outs. The new weapons layouts are making it extremely tough to have fun in the BTB playlist. The Commando and Battle Rifle are going to spend this entire sandbox fighting for domination, and it's going to suck shit. Where the town aint big enough for the two of them. And the Commando can't be buffed enough without making it another DMR situation. The Plasma Pistol was gutted to make the Disrupter worthwhile, which is basically a gimmick weapon through and through. The worst part is that two of these are basically unredeemable. Halo has always had a problem with waste weaponry, there's always three or so weapons that just aren't strong enough to serve their purpose well.Īfter years of memery the Needler has been in a good spot for three games now, but the Plasma Pistol now has no purpose, the DMR got replaced with a worse Carbine that was nerfed for no reason, and the Ravager is basically a throw pick with some area denial ability. This is Halo, everything needs to serve a specific purpose, and currently we yet again have two mid long range precision rifles, one of which is just a pistol that ate a few mars bars. Redundant weaponry makes no sense in a sandbox driven game.
